Andros Greece
Andros is the Northern most and second largest Island of the Cyclades. It covers about 374sq.km and its about 36 nautical miles from Port Rafina. (2 hours by ferry)It is fairly green with high mountains, deep valleys and four rivers that cross the landscape.
Gavrio is the island's main port located in the west side of the island. One of the most interesting features of Gavrio is the tower of St. Peter (Agios Petros), one of the most important Geometric structures to have survived to this date.
Chora is the capital of Andros, located in the Southeast part, and it's the island's second most important harbor. It is a very attractive town, with neo-classical mansions built side by side traditional cycladic homes.
There are some nice beaches for swimming at Nimborio, Parporti, Korthi bay near Batsi, Gavrio, Vitali.
Andros has good tourist amenities and can easily deal with the steadily increasing numbers of visitors who choose if for its natural beauties, its attractive villages, its historical monuments, its superb beaches and its medicinal springs
