Athens has a great nightlife scene. Walking around Athens city center you can find lots of cafes, music clubs, bars and discos that cater to all tastes.

Some of the hottest and most popular nightclubs can be found on Possidonos ave. near Glyfada beach on the coast or in Passalimani in Piraeus.

If you want a taste of real Greek nightlife then you have to go to the "bouzoukia" which are basically nightclubs that have live Greek music usually some popular Greek artists.

There you can see how Greeks really party, dancing on tables, plate smashing flower throwing etc.. A word to the wise though if you reserve a table for 4-6 people the price can go up to 300 euros.

If partying is not for you then you can enjoy an evening meal at a restaurant or traditional Greek taverna in "Psirri" or Plaka district of Athens. Or just sit down at an open air cafe in Monastiraki and do some people watching.
