Although Greece may not be considered the most popular destination for recreational scuba divers due to the country’s strict diving regulations to protect underwater archaeological sites & limited marine life.

You won’t see schools of tropical fish, multicolored coral reefs or go shark diving, although there are a few wrecks such as the famous Britannic just off the coast of Kea Island or cave diving.

Greece may be disappointing for veteran scuba divers but ideal for the beginner that wants to learn how to scuba dive then it's the perfect underwater experience for first timers.

So if you’re on holidays in Greece and want to become a certified diver or upgrade to to a more advanced level, almost all of the major Greek Islands such as Paros, Mykonos, Naxos, Crete, Milos, Skiathos have dive centers which offer inexpensive PADI dive packages as well as open water, rescue, divemaster, night diving and advanced courses.
